In September, Coverhero attended the sixth edition of Intersekt in Melbourne. Hosted by FinTech Australia and supported by the Victorian Government, Intersekt is Australia’s most valued fintech conference. Australian fintechs, hubs, accelerators, policymakers, regulators, investors, and advisors attended to assess the state of the industry and brainstorm ways to further develop the country's financial technology sector.
The Annual FinTech Industry Conference key themes included defi and web3, payments revolution, fintechs going global and customer in the spotlight.
The 2022 agenda included talks by renowned figures from both inside and outside the country, as well as roundtable discussions, workshops, and other off-site events, and plenty of chances to socialize and network. With limited seats, the event was attended by notable execs including fintech leaders, government, regulators, investors, banks, financial institutes and fintech support services. Roundtables with treasury, regulators and advisors on CDR, NPPA, ASIC and other key topics were also conducted as well as meeting rooms with industry facilitators such as Austrade.
Networking opportunities including industry dinners, welcome drinks, a VIP dinner, women in fintech breakfast and closing networking drinks were also co-ordinated, which were attended by Coverhero’s founder Naby Mariyam.
Coverhero’s founder also took to the stage to moderate a panel on day one. With speakers including Zoe Cossart from Open Insurance, Ariel Timothy from Aryza and Jacob Parker from Fiskil, the opportunities surrounding embedded insurance were discussed.
